The article features Louisiana artist Mary Jane Cox. M. Douglas Walton's Watercolor Encounter workshops in Ruston, Louisiana are said to have introduced Cox to an approach to watercolor painting which she found exciting and expressive. She conducts about 15 workshops annually to teach multiple-image painting. Cox suggests painting on damp paper until it begins to lift from the board.
