ABSTRACT
The article presents a brief profile of author and watercolorist Hardie Gramatky. Gramatky was popularly known as the author of the children's classic "Little Toot." At the onset, the famed author chose watercolor as his favored art medium when he entered the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California in the 1920s. Despite not being considered as a serious art medium during his Chouinard stint, Gramatky chose watercolor for its sensitivity and its ability to help him express his enthusiasm for life.
