ABSTRACT
The article offers tips for chief financial officer (CFOs) on making their companies a more attractive investment for venture capital (VC) firms. It stresses the importance of mutual respect between chief executive officer (CEO) and CFO which, according to the author, is a sign that it is present in the enterprise. He says that most VC firms will invest in companies whose CFOs have enough real-world experience that will help them anticipate financial challenges. It says that great CFOs must anticipate what the company will need in the event of an initial public offering (IPO), sale or additional round of financing.
