ABSTRACT
The article announces plans by conglomerate 3M to purchase Cogent Inc. The deal was priced at 10.50 U.S. dollars per share, totaling approximately 943 million U.S. dollars. Under the deal, Cogent will be integrated into the security systems division of 3M, expanding the firm's position in the biometric market serving border control markets, law enforcement agencies and commercial services.
