ABSTRACT
The article discusses the investment strategies and business approach of insurance companies during the financial crisis. It states that Hannover Re, one of the world's largest reinsurers, sold off all its equity investments in response of the stumble of the financial markets. It indicates that Hannover Re did not change it investment philosophy even if the markets have stabilized. It notes that companies are monitoring its complex investments very closely and weigh the cost of monitoring.
