ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the misgivings of smaller companies about selling to a larger strategic firm which, according to the author, are vanishing even for relatively small firms confronting sales to Fortune 500 companies, and the acquisition of sub-metering products and systems maker E-Mon by Honeywell International. It explains the reason why strategics were an appealing buyer in the late 1990s. Chris Hammond of Green Manning & Bunch mentions the ability of strategics to come to a deal without financial contingencies.
