ABSTRACT
The article presents a case of a 58-year-old woman having a decreased clarity of vision in both eyes with poor night vision due to vitamin A deficiency. It indicates that 33% patients with primary biliary cirrhosis have a greater risk of vitamin A deficiency because of malabsorption of fat-soluble vitamins. The use of electroretinography in diagnosing retinal dystrophies and degeneration is also discussed.
