ABSTRACT
The article reports that clean room manufacturing capabilities have been added by Specialty Silicone Fabricators Inc. (SSF) to produce drug-eluting medical components. As stated, the drug-eluting device operation is based in the firm's Tustin facility in California, which was previously occupied by sister company Innovative Surgical Products Inc. Details on the collaboration between SSF and Momentive Performance Materials Inc. on optimizing an extrusion process, is also given.
