ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of microplate reader test plates in the calibration of microplate readers. It describes manual methods of instrument testing and points out why using certified test plates is more efficient and economical. It notes the difference in the interaction of light beam on a plane with that of a curved liquid surface. The absorbance, luminescence, and fluorescence types of test plates are also explained.
