ABSTRACT
The article features the latest in technological weaponry designed for the small-size battleship corvette. Denel's Umkhonto-IR surface-to-air missile uses infrared guidance to reach 12-kilometer distance targets with plans to extend up to 23 kilometers. Saab's RBS15 missile, designed as a fire-and-forget weapon enabling a vessel to leave once it has been launched, can be used for sea and land-based targets. The 76/62 Compact Naval Gun Mount from Oto Melara is a tri-role anti-aircraft, shore bombardment and anti-surface gun.
