ABSTRACT
The article describes the design of a transport-membrane-condenser (TMC) system, an upgrade to high-pressure steam boilers, which captures and recovers latent waste heat and water vapor from exhaust gas. It states that a TMC water-recovery system operates in two stages to optimize the ability to retrieve water and heat for re-use. It mentions that the TMC system increases the fuel-to-steam energy efficiency by 15 percent and the capture of moisture in flue gas by 40 percent.
