ABSTRACT
The article focuses on innovation as a vital factor for organizations to survive during the economic recession and explores the role of human resources (HR). Innovation is said to hinge partly on preserving the appropriate organizational conditions for creativity to exist. For HR, the innovation challenge is based on two questions which include whether HR can make innovation a defining part of working life and whether HR can lead the way by utilizing innovative technology.
