The chargemaster, is also known as a hospital charge description master. A chargemaster is used to generate the patients' bills. The article cites the case of Intermount Healthcare, a nonprofit health care system based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Intermount used Craneware Inc.'s Chargemaster Toolkit software to improve the consistency and compliance of its charge capture process.
