The article offers information about the production of propylene oxide (PO) from propylene. Among the current applications of PO are propylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, propylene glycols ethers and propylene carbonate. Indirect oxidation processes include one based on oxidation of propylene with organic hydroperoxides and another based on the use of hydrogen peroxide for epoxidation in the presence of a catalyst. A discussion on the discovery of two new silver nanoarchitectures with silver trimers is also presented.
