ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Paralyzed Veterans of America's (PVA) Research and Education Foundation to encourage architecture students to design high quality wheelchairs to those people with spinal-cord dysfunction (SCD) in the U.S. The organization coordinated with the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) to conduct a conference in disseminating accessibility concepts of designing various devices. Architect Brad Buchanan has made Freedom by Design (FBD) program.
