ABSTRACT
The article discusses the European debt crisis, the financial crisis in Greece, and efforts being made to rescue European banks and the Greek economy. The article claims that the proposed bailout in Europe is designed to save banks that face liability from past low-interest loans. With respect to Greece, the article reports that the country will need to cut its public deficit and reduce wages to qualify for bailout funds.
