ABSTRACT
The article presents the views of Doctor Elizabeth A. Davis on an aspheric presbyopia-correcting intraocular lens (IOL) which yields full range of vision. The Tecnis multifocal IOL was developed by Abbot Medical Optics. Davis claims that the visual outcomes of the IOL are at par to those of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). She also discloses that the IOL has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
