ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Jersey Fresh, a partnership between the New Jersey Department of Agriculture (DOA) and the Somerset Medical Center to incorporate local produce into patient and retail menus in the hospital. The program is promoted via a monthly cancer cooking demonstration broadcast on a local television station. George Jonkoski, director of food and nutrition services in Somerset Medical Center, says that partnering with the DOA is important because they can tap into the state's resources.
