ABSTRACT
The article presents a study made by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the second outpatient scheduling system effort of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). It notes that the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), a component of VA, relies on an outpatient scheduling system, but in the year 2000, it began the Scheduling Replacement Project to modernize the system. The modernization will be a part of a larger department wide modernization effort called HealtheVet.
