ABSTRACT
The article presents a reprint of the article "Ontario Hospital Association proposes to scuttle privileges model for doctors," by Lauren Vogel, which appeared at www.cmaj.ca on June 1, 2010. It focuses on the new hospital bylaws released by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) which aim to reduce the decision-making authority of doctors over their patients. OHA president Dr. Mark MacLeod says that the bylaws have standards which would lessen the influence of doctors in decision-making.
