ABSTRACT
The article presents the May 2010 Report to Congressional Committees from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on polar-orbiting environmental satellites. The authors assessed the plan of establishing satellite programs, evaluated the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System's (NPOESS) operations, and evaluated the usage of demonstration satellite's data. They conducted the performance in compliance with generally accepted auditing standards.
