ABSTRACT
The author examines the plan of U.S. President Barack Obama to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons. She notes that while the approach taken by Obama differs from that of his predecessor, former President George W. Bush, in which he intends to persuade Iranian leaders to discontinue enriching uranium, both aim to hinder Iranian acquisition of nuclear weapons. She mentions that the administration of Obama do not believe that imposing economic sanctions will force the Iranian regime to comply with its terms.
