ABSTRACT
The article discusses how Liberty Bank and Trust Company has grown after the 2005 Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, while other institutions failed in the state. According to the article, as a result of the hurricane eight of its branches were damaged and 80% of its customers and 40 million dollars of its deposits were lost. The actions taken by Liberty's chief executive Alden J. McDonald Jr. to further his bank including acquisitions and developing a certificate of deposit are discussed.
