ABSTRACT
The article discusses leadership in the white space. Recommendations in four areas are presented including engaging and enabling leaders, communicating with and reaching all employees, and aligning the human resource systems. Seven key principles are identified such as listen to what people are telling, do not ignore the white spaces, and use multiple levers. Three primary ways to modify learning programs to build strong cross-functional bridges are provided, namely, mixing groups, mixing resources, and mixing focus.
