ABSTRACT
The article offers the author's insights regarding the Shure SM58, a microphone that was released by Shure Inc. in 1966. She states that the introduction of SM58 had allowed several singers to get closer with their audiences such as Mick Jagger and Roger Daltry. She relates that SM57 and SM58 microphones are literally similar and both perform well in onstage performances and in the recording studios. She adds that the artist's performance is more important than the choice of equipment.
