ABSTRACT
The article presents the defence profile of India. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil is the country's Head of state and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, while Arackaparambil Kurian Antony is the Minister of Defence. The Ministry of Defence consists 1,210,000 military personnel with 30,000 Rasthtriya Rifles. The allocated defence budget is worth 1,470 billion rupees.
