ABSTRACT
This article discusses ways to accelerate growth in financial planning. Perhaps prompted by forecasts that clients in the future will favor larger firms capable of meeting all their financial needs, many planners nowadays are looking for ways to grow faster. Some are buying a practice. The selling trend may have something to do with the retirement of baby boom generation. Furthermore, the Internet is also fueling interest, enabling buyers and sellers to connect more easily. Others are opting for a merger to deal with a mounting competition and better serve existing clients and attract new ones. Still, some are partnering with other planners for reasons that sole practitioner would be left behind. Partnerships are also created to cut cost and leverage investment.
