ABSTRACT
The article highlights the tenth year anniversary of Linux on IBM System z and the introduction by Novell of an open sourcezproduct innovation and ISV and partner support of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for IBM System z in July 2010. It recalls the deployment of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for System z in 2000. Customers of the program include Bank of Russia and BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, among others. A background on Novell is offered.
