ABSTRACT
The article discusses the impact of the pay in lieu of notice (pilon) clauses on the employment contracts of workers in Great Britain. The advantages of the pilon clauses to employers are also cited, including their right to end an employment immediately without breaching the contract by paying the employee. It is also inferred that employers and employees could lost their tax exemption on the employment termination package.
