The author discusses the impact of executive coaching on the career of individuals. He claims that the coaching practice has shown none or limited impact, partly due to the absence of goals or desired outcomes to measure its effect. The author explains two reasons behind the practice's acceptance, namely, the need to discuss one's problems, hopes and desires, and the need for careers to be managed, controlled and developed.
