ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the increasing rates of the use of renewable energy sources in Australia. It notes that renewable in the country accounted for a modest 5.8 per cent of our electricity generation in 2007/2008. Having a per capita greenhouse gas emissions being one of the highest worldwide, it stresses that there is a strong argument for the country to rapidly develop low-emissions energy sources.
