ABSTRACT
The article discusses the changes which the travel industry and the newspaper "Travel Weekly" underwent in the past 40 years. The newspaper, which was founded in 1969 as "Travel News," has continued its coverage of the latest news and analysis of the industry. During the 1970s, major world events included the oil crises, the Watergate scandal, and the election of the Britain's first female prime minister, Margaret Thatcher. The industry witnessed substantial growth during the 1980s.
