Level 1 Limited Supervision becomes a reality

The article highlights the importance of the Level 1 Limited Supervision (LS) Standards to the Swiss Federal Office for Transport's strategy to launch the European Train Control System (ETCS) across the standard rail network. A memorandum of understanding among European railway organizations declared Level 1 LS as part of the Baseline Three System Requirements Specification for the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The functionality of Level 1 LS was proven with the railway pilot project at Burgdorf.
