ABSTRACT
The article presents a letter from Lisa Shames, Director of Natural Resources and Environment at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). The letter focuses on the improvements in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) implementation of new crop assistance program. GAO found that USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) has made about 395 million dollars in payments to 8,463 farmers under the program. It further presents GAO's recommendations towards the program.
