ABSTRACT
In our modern world, it can be said that one of the topics which most emphasized is expression that man has lost his value. One of the most important signs is conflicts that happened and turned to wars among people. Firstly, it has also consisted upon that person is living an inner disagreement and he is carrying it to social extent. This conflict that person is living with oneself and his environment has been expressioned the concept of 'alienation/estrangement'. Along history, a great many of thinkers have arrived at important evaluations and made an effort to give an answer to this matter. One of these thinkers is Paul Tillich. Tillich is a striking thinker with regard to his view and answers which express the matter of alienation/estrangement. So, this study examines the concept of 'alienation/estrangement generally and Paul Tillich's approaches to it specially.
