Offers observations on the use of enzyme replacement therapy for Gaucher's disease in Ontario, Canada. Evidence that this therapy is effective and safe; Use of so-called adoption zones to evaluate the economics of the therapy; Conclusion that Ontario's policy on reimbursement for enzyme replacement therapy for Gaucher's disease is a good example of successful resource allocation for the treatment of a high-cost, low-prevalence disease.
