ABSTRACT
The article discusses the study by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) regarding the need for fraud prevention controls in improving program integrity. It mentions for instance the Service- Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) program which GAO used to gather updates on fraud referrals based on selected SDVOSB firms. Furthermore, it states that GAO conducted a review of internal control standards guidelines to come up with fraud preventive measures.
