ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's views on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) inquiry on video device competition. It notes that FCC envisions a home network with a standardized remote user interface that is more complex than the CableCard interface. The author believes that the FCC document is merely a notice of inquiry with no proposed rulemaking.
