ABSTRACT
The author offers his thoughts on the present system of management of most organizations. He states that to a large extent, companies are being run by some long-departed theorists and a bureaucracy system who invented the conventions of modern management. He says that such hierarchy exists in most firms, including in budget management, human resources practices and planning. He argues that even the most admired companies are not as adaptable and innovative as they should be.
