ABSTRACT
The article discusses ways to reduce healthcare costs for hospitals and group practice leaders. It implies that it is important to understand the solutions being used by innovators to tackle the challenges of key cost drivers namely labor, technology and supply chain. The author suggests adopting Toyota's Lean or Six Sigma which cuts labor costs and boosts productivity, collaboration with other facilities in terms of technology, and analyzing supply usage data to omit the need for large supply closets.
