ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the slowdown in the high yield primary market in the U.S. in May 2010 caused by concerns over the economy. It notes that eight deals have been pulled out of the market during the month. Mathew Van Alstyne of Odeon Capital Group cites market volatility and economic skittishness as the factors that are discouraging people from purchasing new issue paper. It adds that causes of the investor uncertainty include the Greek and European debt crises and the proposed financial regulatory reform in the Congress.
