ABSTRACT
The article discusses the study of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the steps undertaken by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in securing the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in accordance to the Consolidated Natural Resources Act (CNRA). GAO assesses the implementation of CNRA with regards to foreign workers, investors and visitors. GAO recommends the DHS to carry out immigration and federal border control in the commonwealth.
