ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the cost of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill involving the Deepwater Horizon semisubmersible rig used by BP P.L.C. on April 22, 2010. Eleven workers were killed and three leaks resulted from the explosion of the rig. Firm and government officials believe completely stopping the leak could take a few months. Experts estimate the cost of the cleanup at about three billion U.S. dollars.
