ABSTRACT
The article discusses the need for the banking industry to respond to shifts in consumer behavior. As a result of factors including the recession and distrust of corporations, consumer purchase and product-use dynamics have shifted significantly. One example of the shift is how many consumers have moved their money from large banks to smaller community banks. The author argues that banks need to evolve to address the financial education needs of their customers.
