ABSTRACT
The article discusses the restrictions on U.S. immigration rules in terms of race, religion, and nationality and the changes in ruling after 120 years of the noted Chinese exclusion case. It discusses the traditional concept of controlling immigration, the criteria and justifications and the current U.S. immigration laws. Also noted are the impermissible and permissible criteria and the views according to the normative disciplines including constitutional law, moral philosophy and international human rights law.
