ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study about breast cancer detection efforts in women below 40 years old. A research study by the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BCSC) reveals data derived on the effect of screening and diagnostic mammography in over 100,000 women in the age group, and provides a contemplative viewpoint on the advantages and disadvantages of such screening. The author stresses the need for evidence that early detection of these cancers shows improvements in health outcomes.
