ABSTRACT
The article reports on the findings of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the tsunami strategic plans of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the U.S. It mentions that NOAA implemented planning practices for the Tsunami Program in 2008 and for National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program (NTHMP) in 2009, however some key components are not fully developed. It adds that TsunamiReady program has limited community participation which impedes the program's goal.
