ABSTRACT
The article discusses EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications, a security format used on some credit cards, especially in Europe. Many credit card issuers in the U.S are opposed to EMVs, citing the costs of reissuing of cards equipped with chips and the installation of machines that can read the cards at retail outlets. But some institutions, including the United Nations Federal Credit Union, plan to offer the EMV card.
