ABSTRACT
The article discusses the significance of social media in marketing and managing healthcare service provider's patient experiences. It highlights the use of microblog Twitter of David Henderson, an Emmy award-winning former CBS News correspondent, in sharing his experience after his minor knee surgery at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. It mentions that social media can be used as a tool by patients in broadcasting their satisfaction after being treated with a particular medical care. It stresses that social media, blogs, message boards and the like are forms of word-of-mouth messaging technology that can help health care providers to advertise their services.
