ABSTRACT
The article reviews the internal control procedures for determining eligibility of firms of the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) 8(a) program, by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). It was found that the SBA staff has failed to complete required annual review procedures. Factors that contributed to the inconsistencies to its review are identified. The SBA was also found that it does not maintain comprehensive data to track complaints on the eligibility of firms.
